UV Drain Lining
UV Lining Drain Repair
At Subscan we’re always striving to take full advantage of the latest developments in drain rehabilitation and reinforcement. We’ve invested heavily in the latest ultraviolet lining equipment, which is more environmentally friendly and cost effective than other forms of CIPP lining.
With UV lining, our qualified engineers can fix damaged sewers and partially collapsed drains without the need to excavate or replace large sections of underground pipe work.
UV lining is similar to other methods of conventional CIPP relining. The process involves inserting a liner inside of the existing damaged sewer or drain. Once in place, is inflated with compressed air. Using a UV Light with built-in CCTV the liner is then inspected for folds or wrinkles before the hardening process. When it is checked the UV light is then applied to harden the liner. This creates a pipe within a pipe restoring the structural integrity of the pipe.

The Benefits of UV Drain Relining
• The Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) liner is extremely durable and long lasting (up to 70 years). Providing a much longer design life than other methods. It is also ten times stronger than conventional CIPP lining.
• There is no need for deep excavations, or replacement of the damaged outer pipe as the GRP creates a pipe within a pipe.
• Environmentally friendly UV lining also avoids any risk of environmental pollution. There is no disposal of styrene contaminated water so it can be used safely in rural areas, as well as built-up areas.
• UV lining equipment can be used in smaller, more awkward locations due to the portability of the equipment required.
• Minimises pipe diameter reduction due to the reduced liner thickness.
