Welcome Martin to the Subscan Team!
We are thrilled to announce that Martin Wilson has joined Subscan as our new Finance Director in early June 2024. With his impressive background and extensive expertise, we are confident that he will be a tremendous asset to our team.
His career began in accounting, where he received rigorous training at a highly reputable firm in Leeds. During his early years, Martin quickly demonstrated his exceptional skills and advanced to the finance directorship level. In this role, he provided crucial financial leadership to companies that required the specialised expertise of a finance director to navigate complex financial landscapes and drive growth. His strategic insights and financial acumen were instrumental in helping these companies achieve significant growth and success.
Martin transitioned into full-time roles within various industries. His goal was to provide ongoing support to businesses, leveraging his extensive knowledge and skills to foster growth and stability across a diverse range of sectors. Over the past decade, Martin has accumulated a wealth of experience in both accounting practices and industry roles. His diverse skill set includes:
- Forensic Accounting: Martin has conducted detailed financial investigations. Often working with top-tier accounting firms to uncover financial discrepancies and provide expert testimony in legal cases.
- Financial Forecasting and Planning: He has developed comprehensive financial models and strategies that help businesses plan for the future. Managing risks, and allocating resources effectively.
- Restructuring and Company Turnarounds: Martin has led efforts to restructure organizations, implement turnaround strategies, and restore financial health, enabling companies to recover from financial distress and achieve sustainable profitability.
- Efficiency and Profitability Studies: He has conducted in-depth analyses to identify inefficiencies and implemented strategic practices to enhance operational performance and profitability.

Outside of his professional endeavours, Martin is a devoted family man. He cherishes the time spent with his three children, one stepdaughter, and his beloved dog. Balancing a dynamic family life with children ranging from ages 1 to 14 is no small feat, but Martin manages it with grace and enthusiasm. Despite his busy family schedule, he always finds time to indulge in his passion for Formula 1 racing, seizing every opportunity to catch a race whenever the kids allow.
