3D Laser Scanning

3D Laser Scanning is a non-contact, non-destructive technology that digitally captures the shape of physical objects using a line of laser light. It’s a cost-effective way to capture the exact size, shape and location of objects underground without unnecessary site disruption. Laser scanning survey teams at Subscan UDS produce three-dimensional building and structure models that deliver previously unimaginable levels of information, detail and accuracy.

At Subscan we have a dedicated team of inhouse specialists who complete comprehensive site surveys with speed and accuracy across the UK. Subscan UDS use the latest detection techniques including 3D Laser scanning to locate utilities, ensuring workers know exactly what buried obstacles they may face before coming across them, minimising costly delays from unknown obstacles.

  • Topographical, measured building and as-built surveys
  • Surveys of limited access or hazardous areas
  • Volume surveys and engineering calculation
  • Virtual reality models, site visualisations, 3D walk-through models and more
  • Structural and land deformation monitoring
  • Mobile 3D Laser Scanning

Preparation is key

It’s a legal requirement that before digging you should be aware of what is beneath the surface, ensuring there are no hidden surprises when you break ground. A hit gas main can not only be costly in terms of time and money, it can cause injury or worse.

The data 3D Laser scanning is highly detailed and helps complex decision making.

Why Subscan?

3D Laser Scanning is fast becoming the industry norm for precision surveying in high precision and high value technical environments. As one of the first companies to adopt Laser Scanning technology, Subscan are one of the most experienced drainage specialists in the UK.

Each survey Subscan completes is presented in layered CAD models with an accompanying report ensuring you have all the information required to make informed, and safe, decisions on site.

Client Testimonial

"In the whole scheme of things my blocked drains on a wet Saturday evening are inconsequential. However, when everything was backing up it wasn’t pleasant and after a number of phone calls I came across Subscan.  Anthony arrived at 10.30pm, assessed the problem in the pouring rain and had things sorted within the hour at a very fair price.  Thank you - I shall remember your excellent service and freely recommend you for any related job large or small.
